Amazon Scarlet Snake (Pseudoboa coronata) is a rear-fanged species from the South American tropics. The virulence of its venom has not been studied but it appears to have little if any effect on humans. This gorgeous but secretive serpent can reach 3 feet in length. It is thought to be a coral snake mimic. Photo taken off Rio Orosa,Loreto,Peru | |
