Green python (Chondropython viridis) in hunting posture on a low tree branch. Adult green pythons reach around 2 metres in length. It is a sit-and- wait predator that catches small mammals,reptiles and some birds. Although primarily arboreal,female green pythons lay their eggs on the forest floor.
