Barred tiger salamander (Ambystoma tigrinum mavortium). This is the largest land-dwelling salamander in the world,reaching a length of around 20 centimetres. It is active at night,spending most of its time in underground burrows or in thick vegetation near water. The barred tiger salamander feeds on insects,earthworms,small mice and other amphibians.
