Young French angelfish. The French angelfish (Pomacanthus paru) inhabits the shallow, warm waters around reefs in the Caribbean Sea. This specimen is still showing the yellow stripes seen on juveniles. However the adult markings,a yellow rim around each scale, can also be seen, indicating it is approaching maturity. These fish eat corals and sponges, and are also known to take parasites from larger fish. They may reach a length of over 40 centimetres when fully grown.
