Caribbean reef shark. Head of a Caribbean reef shark (Carcharhinus perezi). Its gill slits are seen at centre left. This shark inhabits the warm, shallow waters of the Caribbean Sea. It often lives in groups, and is a quick and agile hunter. These traits allow it to catch its main prey, reef fish. It is a small shark, rarely growing over two metres in length.
