Spiny sunstar (Crossaster papposus) on a rock,surrounded by sea urchins (yellow/green). This starfish inhabits the northern Atlantic Ocean. Individuals can have between eight and 16 arms,and can reach over 35 centimetres in diameter. It feeds mainly on bivalves such as mussels and oysters,which it prises open using its arms.
