An adult luna moth recently emerged from its cocoon. Its wings are now almost dry. After emerging, the luna moth (Actias luna) has no mouth and cannot eat; it lives for only about one week, during which time it mates and lays eggs. This one was photographed (number 9 in a series of 13) at Florida's Timucuan Preserve | |
