| MODEL RELEASED. Patient undergoing laser lithotripsy procedure to remove a kidney stone obstructing his right ureter. A pulsed dye laser is used to fragment such stones without damaging the surrounding tissue. An ultra-thin laser fibre is passed via the urethra & through the bladder into the affected ureter,the vessel through which urine drains from each kidney. A video attachment allows the surgical team to follow the progress of treatment. The fibre is directed towards the stone,which is shattered by pulses of the laser.
