This frontal view from a hysterosalpingogram shows the typical appearance of a T-shaped uterus. Contrast has been instilled into the uterine cavity in this procedure to demonstrate this uterine malformation. There is spillage of contrast from the left (on your right) fallopian tube into the peritoneal cavity which is a normal finding during hysterosalpingography. This has been linked to exposure to DES,a synthetic estrogen compound given to pregnant women in the 1950s and 1960s.
