This is a lateral oblique (between a frontal view and a lateral view) view of the arterial anatomy of the distal aorta and iliac arteries from a 3D angiogram in a patient with severe, advanced arteriosclerosis. This patient underwent surgical correction of severe arteriosclerotic narrowing (stenosis) of the lower abdominal aorta and iliac arteries. Severe vascular narrowing of the distal aorta and iliac arteries was identified on an earlier angiogram. After this 3D image was obtained the severe stenosis was treated surgically with placement of a Y graft to replace the patients native vessels. The synthetic Y graft is sewn over the patients native vessels. This frontal view shows the synthetic Y graft in front of the diseased native vessels which are hidden | |
