This axial (cross sectional) CT head image without contrast shows bilateral subdural hygromas resulting in mild mass effect upon the underlying frontal lobes with mild shift of the midline structures to the left. Hygromas are often secondary to previous trauma without bleeding but with tearing of the arachnoid membraine resultring in CSF or higher protein content CSF to enter and fill the subdural spaces
