Meissner effect demonstration. This effect is the expulsion of a magnetic field from a supercomputer during its transition to the superconducting state. It was discovered in 1933 by Walther Meissner and Robert Ochdenfeld, when they measured the magnetic field distribution outside superconducting tin and lead samples. This demonstration is at Argonne National Laboratory,Illinois,USA. Photographed on 8 April 2011 | |
