Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) drinking at a watering hole. This even-toed ungulate mammal is the tallest living land animal and the largest ruminant. It can grow to a height of 5.5 metres and weigh over a tonne. Feeding mainly on the twigs and leaves of trees,it is found on the grasslands and scrublands of sub-Saharan Africa.
