Pale chanting goshawk (Melierax canorus) perched in a tree. This carnivorous bird-of-prey inhabits the savannah and bushlands of southern and eastern Africa. It hunts by day,watching from a perch and swooping to seize small animals such as lizards,birds and mammals. Adults live in territorial pairs,and roost in trees at night.
