Colour enhanced scanning electron microscope of pollen from a Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus),(also called sunroot,sunchoke,or topinambour). This is a species of sunflower,native to eastern North America. This kind of tuberous sunflower may be over 3m high. It blooms late in the fall with small sunflower-like blooms.
