A zinc metal strip was immersed into a beaker containing a 0.2M copper (II) sulfate solution. Since zinc is more reactive than copper,a single-displacement reaction occurred: Zn + CuSO4 -> Cu + ZnSO4. This image was taken 1.5 hours after the strip was put into the beaker. Note hydrogen gas bubbles that were produced in a secondary reaction. Photo 5 of 7
