Various types of cells mature within bone marrow prior to their entrance into our vascular system. This scene depicts scattered red blood cells demonstrating their elliptical flattened appearance. The central portion of the scene reveals yellow,oblong fat cells usually found in bone marrow as we age. A large oblong cell known as a megakaryocyte is seen in the left central portion of the view. This large cell ultimately bursts into numerous platelets. Scattered white blood cells can be recognized by their irregular outer surface that contain multiple finger-like projections
