Cardiac Event Recorder,a device which records ECG rhythms suggestive of a cardiac arrhythmia (palpitations and slow, fast,or skipped heartbeat),shown here lying on several disposable electrodes. These are attached to the patient's body and connected to the recorder. If a cardiac event occurs, the patient starts the recorder by briefly pushing a button marked with a telephone. Up to six events may be recorded in a sequence; they are then transmitted via telephone to the issuing cardiological laboratory for evaluation | |
