Laser beam refracting. When light is incident from the air on the glass with water it refracts (bends) toward the normal to the surface. When light exits the glass it refracts away from the normal to the surface. The angles of incidence and refraction are related through the Snell's law. In this photograph a red (635 nm wavelength) beam from a diode laser is used to demonstrate the phenomenon | |
