Male Black-headed Grosbeak (Pheucticus melanocephalos),Madera Canyon,Arizona. The Black-headed Grosbeak is a medium-sized seed-eating bird. In addition to the male's eponymous black head,it also has black wings and prominent white patches on its black tail. Its breast is dark to tawny orange in color. Its belly is yellow. The Black-headed Grosbeak prefers to live in deciduous and mixed wooded areas.
