This frontal projection from an intracranial MR venogram shows nonvisualization of the superior sagittal sinus representing dural sinus thrombosis.This represents a potentially life threatening condition where the major venous outlets of the brain develop blood clots preventing the normal egress of blood from the intracranial compartment. This condition can be associated with sepsis,neonates,dehydration,women of childbearing age,pregnant women and women taking oral contraceptives.
