Urinary bacteria. A biofilm has developed in a plastic volumetric container used to collect urine of a healthy person for two weeks. The urine volume was measured, the urine was discarded, and the container was washed with water and used by the same person again the next day. The biofilm was scraped off after 2 weeks, fixed, and prepared for SEM. The bacteria were not isolated from the person's fresh urine but they developed on the container walls. The bacteria were not identified. Enhanced SEM. Image width: 6.75 micrometers. Magnification: 14,815x if the image is printed 10 cm wide | |
