Infrared thermography is useful in detecting areas of moisture in built-up roofs because the moisture is heated during the day by solar radiation and that heat is re-emitted at night. Thus wet sections of a roof show up hot,(white),and dry areas appear cool,or dark. The wet area detected during a survey is outlined directly on the roof surface with spray paint | |
