Natrolite, sodium aluminum silicate,is a member of the large family of zeolite minerals, all of which are characterized by their loss of water when heated. Natrolite always occurs in colorless long prismatic crystals. These are almost always very slender and form 'sprays'. The typical occurrence is in cavities in dark lava rocks such as basalt. Excellent examples come from the extensive basalt lava flows near Poona,India | |
