Apophyllite is a complex silicate mineral that is typically found in cavities in dark igneous rocks, such as basalt. It is usually associated with a group of minerals known as zeolites. Apophyllite is colorless but can be tinted by impurities. The material from India is spectacular, and occurs throughout the immense area of lava flows known as the Deccan Plateau. Panuel is one of many apophyllite localities in this region | |
