Cladosporium macrocarpum (a dematiaceous hyphomycete) in the form of black spots on a wheat ear. The tips of the conidiophores with the scars are collapsed inwards in this dry specimen. The conidia are missing. Cladosporium sp. (Hormodendrum sp.) belongs to outdoor fungi which grow on dead plants including wood and straw,on food,in the soil,and also on textiles. It may also be found on the surface of fiberglass duct liners in the interior of supply ducts. It can cause mycosis in humans.
