Sea monster. Historical artwork of a sea monster or kraken squirting water from its mouth beside a ship. Another view of the sea snake or serpent,as described by the Rev. Haw Strom in 1755,is at top. The main artwork was based upon a description in Rev. Egede's journal of his trip to Greenland in 1734. The fact that the monster spouted water makes it likely the creature being described was a whale. These artworks were in a book from 1755 | |
