Herd of Springbok (Antidorcus marsupialis) sheltering from the sun. Springbok are common, but they are dependent on conservation areas for their current distribution. They are characterised by their habit of repetitively leaping into the air. This behaviour is known as pronking. The exact reason for pronking is unknown, although it is usually displayed when they are nervous. Photographed in Namibia | |
