Giraffe skin (Giraffa camelopardalis). The giraffe is a herbivore and is the tallest living land animal, reaching over 5.5 metres in height. The giraffe's long neck is an adaptation to allow it to feed on the succulent leaves at the tops of trees. Giraffes live in loose groups of anywhere between two and fifty individuals, inhabiting the savanna of sub-Saharan Africa. Photographed in the Samburu Game Reserve in Kenya,East Africa | |
