Mule deer. Two mule deer (Odecoileus hemionus) bucks (male) locking antlers. The locking of antlers takes place during a rut (period of sexual excitement) when the males compete for the females. The mule deer's antlers are up to 70 cm long and can have fifty or more points. Mule deer are herbivores,feeding on branches and bushes.
