Zebras. Zebra foal (Equus sp.) nuzzling against its mother. A zebra foal is born after a gestation period of around one year and after weaning stays with its mother's herd. These wild horses eat grass, leaves and shoots. Their distinctive stripes make it harder for predators to pick out individuals from the herd when hunting. They are found on the grassy plains of eastern and southern Africa | |
