African elephants (Loxodonta africana). This is the world's largest land animal. It weighs up to 10,000 kilograms and measures 3.5 meters in height. It is a sociable animal,living in family units of adult females and juveniles. The adult male leads a solitary existence,until the mating season when it will approach females.
