Leopard (Panthera pardus) that has been saved from the canned hunting industry. Canned hunting is the breeding and rearing of game animals specifically for hunting. The animals, which are often sedated, are contained within an enclosure surrounded by electric fences. This makes it possible for trophy hunters to kill the animals with minimum effort,in the shortest time possible. The leopard, the smallest of the big cats,is a predatory carnivore. It eats a wide variety of prey including insects, fish, primates and ungulates. The leopard is found throughout sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Photographed in South Africa | |
