Caracal (Caracal caracal,also known as Felis caracal or Lynx caracal). This cat is related to the lynx. It measures about one metre from head to tail. The caracal is a nocturnal predator. It feeds mainly on birds,rodents and small antelopes. It lives alone or in mated pairs,and is territorial. Caracals are easily tamed and have been used as hunting animals in India and Iran.
