Leopard feeding. Leopard (Panthera pardus) feeding on a kill in a tree. This solitary carnivore is almost completely nocturnal, spending its days resting in the branches of trees, which it climbs with great agility. After a kill has been made, the leopard will often drag the carcass up into a tree and devour it there,or store it for future consumption out of the reach of scavengers. P. pardus is found in wooded savannah and forests throughout sub-Saharan Africa and southern Asia. Photographed in the Mala Mala Game Reserve,South Africa | |
