Bat-eared fox (Otocyon megalotis). This small carnivore feeds mainly on insects. Its large ears may be a quarter of the length of its body; its keen hearing allows it to locate termites, which comprise up to 80% of its diet. It lives in dens, either alone,in pairs or in small groups. Bat- eared foxes are found in the savannah and plains of southern and eastern Africa.
