Coyote. View of a coyote (Canis latrans) scavenging on the carcass of an elk (Celvas elaphus) in the snow. They are sometimes called "prairie wolves" as they have a similar appearance to that of the grey wolf. A fully grown coyote has a body length of 95-125 cm,a shoulder height of 45-53 cm,a tail about 40 cm long and a body weight of 15 to 20 kg.
