Capybara (Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris) with its young. This is the largest rodent in the world,attaining a length of over 130 centimetres. It inhabits wetlands in northern and eastern South America,where it feeds on vegetation. It lives in small herds of around 20 animals,led by a dominant male.
