Ring billed gull (Larus delawarensis). This gull can grow up to 49 centimetres in length and have a wingspan up to 124 centimetres. It breeds in colonies near lakes,rivers and in the coastal areas of Canada and the northern United States. It migrates south to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. It is also a regular visitor to western Europe and Great Britain. The ring-billed gull is an omnivore and it will scavenge for its food as well as eat insects,fish,grain,eggs,earthworms and small mammals. Photographed in December,in Kent,UK | |
