Wood sandpiper (Tringa glareola). This bird is a wader that forages in shallow water or mudflats in or around freshwater lakes and rivers. It feeds on insects and similar aquatic prey,using its long bill. It is found in Europe and northern Asia,and migrates to Africa and southern Asia in the winter.
