Spotted dikkop or Cape thick-knee (Burhinus capensis). This is a ground-dwelling bird that lives in arid grasslands and desert areas in southern Africa. It is most active at dawn,dusk and during the night,when it feeds on insects,lizards and small rodents. It has long legs and prefers to run from predators,although it can fly.
