Canada geese. View of a pair of Canada geese (Branta canadensis). Canada geese are large geese which inhabit the wetlands and tundra of North America. They are migratory birds, spending the breeding season in Canada and the northern USA,and travelling as far south as Mexico during the winter months. They have also been introduced into northern Europe, where they have adapted very well to life in built-up areas. They eat mainly grass and other ground plants. The birds fly in groups in a distinctive "V" formation, honking as they fly. Photographed in Colorado,USA | |
