Royal python,Python regius, found in Central Africa (1985); this species will grow up to two metres in length. It is deaf and has poor vision which is only good for percieving prey (rodents),at close range and for the perception of movement. It does however have a good sense of smell which arises from an organ on the roof of the mouth. Pythons can move quickly for short distances in a straight or winding manner; they are also good swimmers. The females lay eggs which they incubate for two months or more,by wrapping their bodies around them and resting their head on top | |
