Parson's chameleon (Calumma parsonii). This chameleon, also called the helmeted chameleon, lives in the forests of Madagascar. Like most chameleons,it can change colour according to its mood and environment. The eyes can be moved independently, and are covered by a cone-shaped scaly lid. This is a male Parson's chameleon, which can grow to a maximum length of around 60 centimetres. It has a pair of blunt nasal horns on its snout, which the female does not have.
