American alligator (Alligator mississipiensis). This large crocodilian reptile is native to the southeastern United States,inhabiting swamps and other wetland habitats. It has between 74 and 80 teeth in its jaw. As the teeth wear down,they are replaced. An alligator may go through between 2000 and 3000 teeth in its lifetime.
