Sand perch (Parapercis sp.) resting on a granulated starfish (Choriaster granulatus). Sand perch are often used by fishermen as bait. They inhabit shallow waters and sandy areas. The granulated starfish is known to feed on algae and detritus and is often found in shallow waters on rubble slopes and coral reefs. It has a maximum arm span of around 27 cm.
