Whitespotted filefish (Cantherhines macrocerus) amongst corals. Despite its name this fish can vary widely in colour and pattern,and does not necessarily display white spots. It inhabits reefs in the tropical western Atlantic Ocean,from Florida,USA,to Brazil. It feeds mainly on sponges,corals and algae and can reach a length of almost 50 centimetres.
