Metallic shrimp goby (Amblyeleotris latifasciata) with its partner,an alpheid shrimp. This goby lives in a symbiotic association with the shrimp. The shrimp digs a burrow in which they both live. The shrimp is blind, however, and relies on the goby to know when it is safe to emerge to feed. It does this by keeping an antenna permanently in contact with the fish. The pair live on sandy seabeds around coral reefs in the tropical waters around South-East Asia. Photographed in Indonesia | |
