Seahorses, historical X-ray. Some of the seahorses (Hippocampus sp.) are long dead, and have been dried. These appear hollow. The others are freshly dead, and details of their internal anatomy can be seen, including some organs. The seaweeds seen around the sea horses are serrated wrack (Fucus serratus) at left and bladder wrack (Fucus vesiculosus) at right. This image was made by E.
