Oblique-banded sweetlips (Plectorhinchus lineatus) amongst corals. This fish inhabits reefs in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. It can reach a length of over 80 centimetres, and feeds on crustaceans, worms and molluscs. Due to its beautiful colours attempts have been made to introduce it into the aquarium trade, but it very rarely flourishes in captivity. Photographed in Indonesia | |
